The Emotions of Nature

This poesy talks about nature and how it is related to the emotions of life, death, and romance. This poetry contains many different symbols for different emotions. For example, Thanatopsis is a greek pietism symbolizing death. In this poem it says To him who in the love of constitution holds / Communion with / her visible forms, she speaks / A various language; for his gayer mins / She has a voice of gladness, and a smile / And eloquence of beauty, and she glides / Into his darker musings, with a modest / And healing sympathy, that steals away / Their sharpness, ere he is aware. When archetypes / Of the last bitter minute of arc come like a blight / over thy spirit, and sulky images / Of the stern agony, and shroud, and p tout ensemble, / And breathless darkness, and the narrow house, / develop thee to shudder and bob up sick at pith(lines 1-13). This poem reminds me of when I go into the woods with my dog Toby. When I am out on that point I bank bill the many di fferent feelings nature portrays.
